CONSERVING OUR HERITAGE . CARING FOR OUR FUTURE

Collections

A wide range of unique artefacts have been collected and donated to the Museum.

Most of the objects relate to the region and people of the Ethekwini Municipality and the city of Durban.
ENQUIRY FACILITY

Academics, scholars, educators and learners visit the various Local History Museums to undertake research. Our archives at the Old Court House, Bergtheil and Pinetown Museums enables us to deliver an enquiry service during weekdays between 8:30 am  – 4:00 pm, where you gain access to the photographs, documentation, records and other primary source material.

The museum is also involved in digitizing a selection of photographs from the collections and some of these images are available on this website.

Should you wish to use any of these images please contact the enquiry section (telephone 031 311 2226/7) or email: Rebecca.Naidoo@durban.gov.za
