While people are going nuts over Japanese organising consultant, Marie Kondo, the museum world just nods their heads – this is old hat for museums who have been organising their collections for eons. But what of the unmanaged collection – the thing that sparks both excitement and desperate fear in the heart of museum professionals the world over! We’re not sure that Marie Kondo would know quite where to begin, but curator and project manager, Angela Kipp, has some words of advice in her book, Managing Previously Unmanaged Collections. And for those of you who’ve already had a look at the text and still feel overwhelmed, Angela will be running an online course to guide you through the process. The course, which will be run over four weeks, begins on the 4th February 2019 and can be accessed via the Museum Study website.
